X-ray, infrared and thermal investigations of the clay-sized fractions showed that the beds mainly consist of dioctahedral illite and a mixed layer mineral with randomly distribution of illitic and montmorillonitic layers, the sample 9c contained montmorillonite and 9f/g contained chlorite and very fine grained calcite.
