Bresjö-avsetninger ved Tynset i Österdalen

Field observations at Tynset in the valley of Österdalen in southern Norway suggest that: 1) Delta terraces were deposited in narrow marginal (lateral) ice-dammed lakes between 720 m and 670 m above present sea level; 2) Large delta terraces, distinctive shore lines, large beach ridges, and an extensive sheet of bottom sediments were formed when the lake leve! was between 660 m and 668 m above present sea leve!. This lake was narrow and marginal during its early phases, but larger during its later phases; 3) Terraces 560 m, 540 m, and 510 m above sea level were deposited in lakes which probably had outlets across Barkaldkjölen south of Tynset.
