Spectrochemical analyses show that a large num ber of pegmatite deposits are relatively rich in baron, which is highly concentrated - up to several tenths of a percent - in minerals containing beryllium or rare earth elements (including thorium) or both, as major constituents. Certain rare muscovites are also enriched in baron. The results are discussed.
