From Eg at Kristiansand vesuvianites in rather large crystals, 7- 10 cm long, are represented in the collections of various museums in Europe and elsewhere.  The crystals occurred in skarn rocks forming reaction rims around small layers of limestone in the Precambrian granitized migmatite of the Kristiansand area.
