About 1930 I spent a considerable amount of time in trying to determine the crystal structure of phosgenite by means of Laue, powder, and oscillation photographs, the material being fragments of a large crystal from Monte Poni, Sardinia, belonging to the collections of the Mineralogisk-geologisk Museum in Oslo. The research work was done partly in Oslo, partly in the Mineralogical Laboratory in Cambridge.
