The relation between the proposed granulite-, magnerite-, and eclogite facies is discussed.

As a result of investigations in Western Norway and Central Europe, combined with laboratory experiments, it is concluded that these three facies are representing more or less the same thermodynamic conditions. The string pertite type of the feldspar is characteristic.
