Selenium minerals have not previously been known for certain from any Norwegian locality, though it has been thought to exist in some mineral veins in Telemark and Setesdal, South Norway. Professor J. H. L. Vogt mentions clausthalite from an unknown locality in that region. An analysis shows this mineral to be rather rich in silver, but no analytical data are given. Further investigations to confirm the identity were not carried out.
