In a tunnel in Prccambrian gneiss at Slemmestad, Southern Norway, several clay gouges were found. Clay from one of these gouges were investigatcd in the laboratory and found to contain halloysite. The age of the gougc and the ela y is not known. This is, as far as the authors know, the first time this mineral is reported from Norway.
